Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Wen Tong Xiao Zhong Wai Fu Fang is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed under the sponsorship of the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission. It is intended for external use as a topical wet application to treat upper limb lymphedema, a common complication following radical surgery for breast cancer. The formula is a multi-herb compound designed to 'warm the meridians' (Wen Tong) and 'reduce swelling' (Xiao Zhong), principles in TCM aimed at restoring flow and reducing fluid accumulation. It has been studied in randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trials to evaluate its efficacy when used in conjunction with functional exercise, focusing on reducing limb volume and improving the quality of life for breast cancer survivors.
