Wenchang Tongfu Decoction

Wenchang Tongfu Decoction is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed for the treatment of sepsis-induced gastrointestinal dysfunction (SIGD). In the context of sepsis, gastrointestinal failure often manifests as motility disorders, mucosal barrier damage, and dysbiosis. This decoction is designed to "warm the intestines" and "dredge the bowels," aiming to restore gastrointestinal motility, protect the intestinal barrier, and modulate the inflammatory response. It is typically administered as an oral or nasogastric liquid preparation in a clinical setting, such as the Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, to prevent the progression of multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS).
