Overview
Wenjing Tongluo Gao (温经通络膏) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) topical paste developed by Longhua Hospital affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is formulated to treat musculoskeletal conditions, specifically early and middle-stage knee osteoarthritis. The preparation follows the TCM therapeutic principle of "warming the meridians and unblocking the collaterals" (Wenjing Tongluo), which is intended to alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, and improve local blood circulation in affected joints. It is typically applied topically to the skin over the joint and is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for its efficacy in managing symptoms of joint degeneration.
