Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Wenpi Decoction, also known as Spleen Warming Decoction or Wen Pi Tang, is a classical Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula. It is composed of several herbs including Rhubarb, Angelica Root, Dried Ginger, Prepared Aconite, Ginseng, Mirabilite, and Licorice. Traditionally, it is indicated for conditions like constipation and abdominal pain stemming from insufficient spleen yang and retained cold in the intestines, working by warming and strengthening the spleen's yang while purging cold accumulations. Recent research indicates its potential in ameliorating chronic renal failure and diabetic nephropathy, and it is currently being investigated in clinical trials for sepsis.
