Overview

Wenshen Yizhi Fang, also known as Bushen-Yizhi formula (BSYZ), is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) prescription composed of multiple herbal ingredients. It has been investigated as a therapeutic agent for Alzheimer's disease (AD). Its proposed mechanisms of action involve regulating amyloid-β metabolism and suppressing neuronal apoptosis. Through a systems pharmacology approach, it has been shown to target various proteins, including calcium-dependent kinases, apoptosis/anti-apoptosis kinases, metalloelastases, glutamate receptors, nerve growth factor receptors, and Cathepsin D. Research has demonstrated its therapeutic effects on cognitive dysfunction in animal models of AD.
