Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Wenshen Yizhi Prescription (also known as Tonifying Kidney-Yang Decoction or Wenshen Yang Formula) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by Dongfang Hospital of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is formulated to treat vascular cognitive impairment (VCI) in patients presenting with kidney-yang deficiency (SYD) syndrome. The prescription is administered orally as granules or a decoction. In clinical trials, Wenshen Yizhi Prescription has demonstrated efficacy in improving cognitive function (as measured by MoCA-BJ and MMSE scores) and alleviating symptoms of kidney-yang deficiency. Systems pharmacology studies suggest that the formula's active constituents, including phytosterols, act through a multi-target network involving core nodes such as SRC, HSP90AA1, MAPK3, MAPK1, and PIK3CA, modulating pathways related to neuroprotection, synaptic plasticity, and inflammation.
