Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Wenxin Keli is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) preparation used for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, such as atrial and ventricular premature beats, and atrial fibrillation. [3, 8] It is manufactured by Shandong Buchang Pharmaceutical. [5] According to TCM theory, it 'benefits qi and nourishes yin, promotes blood circulation to remove stasis'. [5, 8] Its ingredients are Codonopsis root (Dangshen), Siberian Solomon's seal rhizome (Huangjing), Notoginseng root (Sanqi), Amber (Hupo), and Nardostachys root (Gansong). [2] Pharmacological studies suggest it has multi-ion channel blocking properties, including inhibiting late sodium currents, L-type calcium currents, and transient outward potassium currents, which contributes to its antiarrhythmic effects.
