Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Wenyang Sanjie Decoction is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed for the treatment of bone metastasis in patients with lung cancer. Developed and studied by Longhua Hospital at the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the decoction is formulated based on the TCM principles of "warming yang" (Wenyang) and "dissipating nodules" or "resolving masses" (Sanjie). It is intended to address the pathological state of yang deficiency and phlegm-stasis often observed in advanced cancer patients. The therapy is typically used as an adjuvant to standard care, such as chemotherapy or bisphosphonates, with the clinical goals of reducing bone pain, improving quality of life, and potentially modulating the bone microenvironment to inhibit further metastatic progression.
