Overview
WenyangJianpi-qushi Decoction + mometasone furoate is a combination therapy consisting of a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal decoction and the topical corticosteroid mometasone furoate. The decoction, self-made according to TCM principles, is designed to "warm yang," "strengthen the spleen," and "remove dampness”—concepts in TCM associated with improving immune function and reducing inflammation. Mometasone furoate is a synthetic glucocorticoid used topically for its anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects. This combination has been studied for atopic dermatitis of the spleen deficiency and dampness accumulation type, showing improved clinical efficacy compared to corticosteroid alone by reducing SCORAD scores (a measure of disease severity), serum IgE levels, peripheral blood eosinophil counts, recurrence rates, and increasing total effective rate without significant safety concerns[1].
