Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Wetvax is a liquid formulation of live vaccinia virus used as a smallpox vaccine. It was manufactured by Aventis Pasteur and was part of the U.S. National Pharmaceutical Stockpile. Like other traditional smallpox vaccines, it works by exposing the body to a small dose of vaccinia virus, causing the immune system to develop immunity against smallpox.
