Drug intelligence / Profile preview
WGa01 is a novel nano-adjuvant developed by WestGene Biopharma. It has received Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) in China and is designed to enhance the efficacy of mRNA-based therapeutic cancer vaccines, particularly for Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-related cancers. The adjuvant is incorporated into mRNA vaccine formulations to boost anti-tumor immunity by activating cytotoxic T-cells, antigen-specific antibodies, and memory T-cells. This immuno-enhancer technology aims to provide robust anti-cancer effects comparable to those achieved with combined CAR-T cell and monoclonal antibody therapies, while also helping prevent tumor recurrence. The delivery system utilizes a proprietary lipid nanoparticle (LNP) platform patented in multiple jurisdictions[3].
