Overview

WGb-0302 is an experimental mRNA-based therapeutic drug developed by Sichuan University for the treatment of recurrent and refractory hematological malignancies, primarily multiple myeloma. The therapy utilizes lipid nanoparticle (LNP) technology to encapsulate and deliver mRNA encoding proteins that target B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), a protein highly expressed on the surface of malignant plasma cells. By leveraging the LNP-mRNA platform, WGb-0302 aims to induce the endogenous production of anti-BCMA proteins to selectively target and eliminate myeloma cells. It is currently undergoing early-phase clinical evaluation to assess its safety, tolerability, and preliminary therapeutic efficacy in patients who have failed standard treatments such as proteasome inhibitors, immunomodulators, and CD38 monoclonal antibodies.
