Overview

WH002 is a small molecule drug described as a cholesterol-conjugated formulation of paclitaxel delivered as a medium and long chain fat emulsion injection. It acts as a tubulin inhibitor, disrupting microtubule function to inhibit cancer cell division. The drug is being developed primarily for the treatment of HER2-negative breast cancer. In clinical trials, it is compared to standard paclitaxel regimens in neoadjuvant chemotherapy settings for women with high-risk early-stage and locally advanced HER2-negative breast cancer. Unlike conventional paclitaxel formulations that require premedication to prevent hypersensitivity reactions, WH002 does not require such premedication due to its unique formulation[1][2].
