Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Wibical is a formulation of bicalutamide, a non-steroidal antiandrogen, developed and manufactured by GP Pharma. It functions as a small molecule androgen receptor antagonist that competitively inhibits the binding of androgens to their receptors in prostate tissue. By blocking androgen signaling, it prevents the stimulation of prostate cancer cell growth. Wibical is available as film-coated tablets in 50 mg and 150 mg strengths and is primarily indicated for the treatment of advanced or metastatic prostate cancer, typically used in combination with gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analogues or surgical castration.
