Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Widaplik (formerly GMRx2) is an FDA-approved, once-daily, single-pill triple combination therapy developed by George Medicines for the treatment of hypertension, including as an initial therapy. It contains low doses of three established antihypertensive agents: telmisartan (an angiotensin II receptor blocker), amlodipine (a calcium channel blocker), and indapamide (a thiazide-like diuretic). By targeting three distinct physiological pathways of blood pressure regulation, Widaplik provides rapid and effective blood pressure control with a favorable safety and tolerability profile. In addition to hypertension, Widaplik has been evaluated in the Phase III TRIDENT trial for the secondary prevention of recurrent stroke in patients with a history of intracerebral hemorrhage, demonstrating a significant 39% reduction in recurrent stroke risk.
