WIF-2401

WIF-2401 is a long-acting depot injection formulation of donepezil being developed by Whanin Pharmaceutical for the treatment of canine cognitive dysfunction syndrome (CDS). Donepezil is a small molecule acetylcholinesterase inhibitor that works by increasing the concentration of acetylcholine in the brain, addressing the cholinergic deficit associated with cognitive decline in aging dogs. The drug is formulated as a lyophilized powder containing 127.73 mg of donepezil per vial, which is reconstituted and administered as a single intramuscular injection. Clinical studies in dogs with cognitive dysfunction have demonstrated statistically significant improvements in behavioral assessment scores compared to control groups, positioning WIF-2401 as a potential veterinary pharmaceutical for dementia-like symptoms in pets.
