WIL-1903

WIL-1903 is a long-acting injectable (LAI) formulation of naltrexone being developed by Whanin Pharmaceutical for the treatment of alcohol dependence (alcohol use disorder). As an incrementally modified drug (IMD), it is designed to provide sustained release of naltrexone over an extended period, typically one month, to improve medication adherence compared to daily oral formulations. Naltrexone is a potent opioid receptor antagonist that primarily targets the mu-opioid receptor, thereby blocking the reinforcing effects of alcohol and reducing cravings by modulating the dopaminergic reward system. WIL-1903 is currently in Phase 3 clinical trials in South Korea, where its efficacy and safety are being evaluated in patients with alcohol dependence.
