Overview

Wild-type iNK (WT iNK) refers to natural killer (NK) cells derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) that have not undergone genetic modification to express chimeric antigen receptors (CARs). These cells serve as an allogeneic, off-the-shelf cell therapy platform. Developed by companies such as Cell Inspire Biotechnology, WT iNK cells possess innate anti-tumor activity mediated by natural activating receptors, including NKG2D, NKp30, and CD16 (FcγRIIIa). In preclinical studies for hematologic malignancies like multiple myeloma, WT iNK cells are utilized both as a standalone therapeutic candidate and as a baseline control to benchmark the enhanced potency of CAR-engineered iNK variants.
