Overview

WIN-1001X is an investigational **botanical extract** comprising 20% ethanol extracts of *Polygala tenuifolia*, *Angelica tenuissima*, and *Dimocarpus longan*. It was derived from a modified Korean traditional herbal formula and is being developed for Parkinson's disease. Preclinical studies in MPTP mouse and 6-hydroxydopamine rat models associated WIN-1001X with enhanced autophagy, preservation of tyrosine hydroxylase activity in dopaminergic brain regions, neuroprotection, and improvement of parkinsonian motor deficits. Onjisaponin B has been identified as one bioactive constituent with autophagosome-inducing activity. A randomized placebo-controlled Phase II study evaluated oral tablet doses of 400 mg, 800 mg, and 1200 mg in early Parkinson's disease.
