Drug intelligence / Profile preview
WJ03 is a small molecule inhibitor of Aurora kinase A (Aurora A) developed by Wigen Biomedicine Technology (Shanghai). Aurora A is a serine/threonine kinase that plays a pivotal role in the regulation of mitosis, particularly in centrosome maturation, spindle assembly, and chromosome segregation. Overexpression or amplification of Aurora A is common in various human cancers, including breast, lung, and colorectal cancers, where it contributes to genomic instability and tumor progression. By selectively inhibiting Aurora A, WJ03 is designed to disrupt the mitotic process, leading to cell cycle arrest and the induction of apoptosis in malignant cells. The compound is currently in early-stage development for the treatment of oncology indications.
