Overview

WJ11 is a small molecule inhibitor of **Ubiquitin Specific Peptidase 1 (USP1)**, currently under development by **Wigen Biomedicine Technology (Shanghai)** for the treatment of oncology indications. USP1 is a deubiquitinating enzyme that plays a pivotal role in DNA damage repair, specifically within the Fanconi Anemia (FA) pathway and translesion synthesis. By inhibiting USP1, WJ11 aims to disrupt these repair mechanisms, leading to the accumulation of DNA damage and subsequent cell death in cancer cells. This approach is particularly promising in tumors with existing DNA repair deficiencies, such as those with BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutations, where it can induce synthetic lethality. WJ11 is being explored both as a monotherapy and in potential combinations with other DNA-damaging agents or PARP inhibitors to overcome resistance mechanisms in solid tumors.
