Drug intelligence / Profile preview
WM-A1-3389 is a novel therapeutic antibody developed by Wellmarker Bio for the treatment of solid tumors, including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), head and neck cancer, pancreatic cancer, colorectal cancer, and cholangiocarcinoma. It targets a newly discovered immune checkpoint protein (identified as IGSF1—Immunoglobulin superfamily member 1) and is designed to modulate immune responses against tumors. The drug acts through mechanisms such as antibody-dependent cell cytotoxicity and modulation of immune checkpoint proteins. Preclinical studies have shown that WM-A1-3389 demonstrates efficacy in models resistant to existing anti-PD-(L)1 therapies and has additive benefits when combined with pembrolizumab (an anti-PD-1 antibody). Clinical development includes both monotherapy and combination therapy with pembrolizumab in patients with advanced or metastatic solid tumors who have low or no PD-L1 expression[2][3][4][5][8].
