Drug intelligence / Profile preview
WNT10b-Fe3O4-ICG-LIP is a near-infrared (NIR)-responsive, thermosensitive magnetic liposome loaded with Wnt family member 10B (WNT10b), iron oxide nanoparticles (Fe3O4), and indocyanine green (ICG) [317]. Developed by researchers at Tianjin Medical University General Hospital, this multifunctional nanoplatform is designed for the localized treatment and repair of rotator cuff tears [317]. The liposomal carrier protects the biologically active WNT10b protein, while the incorporation of ICG enables photothermal responsiveness; under 808 nm laser irradiation, ICG generates local heat that triggers a phase transition in the lipid membrane, resulting in the controlled release of WNT10b. Additionally, the Fe3O4 nanoparticles provide magnetic targeting capabilities and serve as a contrast agent for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) [317]. In preclinical models of rotator cuff tears, WNT10b-Fe3O4-ICG-LIP has demonstrated the ability to promote tendon healing, enhance cell proliferation, and inhibit fatty infiltration [317].
