Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Wontran ER, also known by its code name DW-0919, is an extended-release fixed-dose combination drug containing tramadol and acetaminophen. It is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe chronic pain that is not responsive to non-opioid analgesics. Tramadol acts as a weak mu-opioid receptor agonist and inhibits the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine, while acetaminophen's mechanism involves inhibition of cyclooxygenase enzymes in the central nervous system and modulation of the endocannabinoid and serotonergic systems.
