Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Wortie is an over-the-counter cryotherapy device used for the self-treatment and removal of common warts and foot warts (plantar warts). It utilizes dimethyl ether (DME) as a cryogenic agent to freeze the wart to its core. The device features a patented precision metal tip that delivers targeted cold directly to the wart without allowing the liquid gas to come into direct contact with the skin, thereby protecting the surrounding healthy tissue and reducing application pain. Originally developed by YouMedical (which was later acquired by Trimb Healthcare and subsequently Karo Healthcare), Wortie is manufactured by Oystershell and distributed globally through regional partners, including Hennig Arzneimittel in Germany and Kwizda Pharma in Austria.
