Drug intelligence / Profile preview
WS-0101 is a topical photodynamic therapy (PDT) photosensitizer being developed by Beijing Houshen Weikang Technology for the treatment of dermatological conditions, specifically cutaneous warts and actinic keratosis. The therapy involves the topical application of the WS-0101 drug followed by activation with a semiconductor laser device. This process generates reactive oxygen species that selectively destroy targeted lesions. As of 2024, the drug has progressed through Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trials in China, including safety and dose-escalation studies in both healthy volunteers and patients with cutaneous warts.
