Overview

WS-CART-CS1 is a CAR-T cell therapy being developed for the treatment of multiple myeloma. This innovative immunotherapy targets CS1 (also known as SLAMF7), a protein highly expressed in multiple myeloma cells. WS-CART-CS1 works by targeting CS1 (SLAMF7), which is an attractive target in multiple myeloma because it is expressed in most patients[6]. The therapy involves genetically modifying a patient's own immune cells (T cells) to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) that recognizes and binds to CS1 on myeloma cells, enabling the modified T cells to attack the cancer[2].
