WS635 is a small molecule, nonimmunosuppressive analog of cyclosporine A (CsA) developed by Waterstone Pharmaceutical. It functions as a dual inhibitor of cyclophilin A (CyPA) and cyclophilin D (CyPD), targets that are implicated in mitochondrial dysfunction and neurodegeneration. Unlike its parent compound CsA, WS635 does not exhibit immunosuppressive activity, allowing for its potential use in treating chronic neurological conditions.
