WSK-V108E is a therapeutic recombinant protein vaccine developed by WestVac Biopharma for the treatment of acne. It is designed to stimulate the immune system to produce antibodies against *Cutibacterium acnes*, a bacterium that plays a key role in the inflammatory pathogenesis of acne. The vaccine is produced using a genetically engineered recombinant protein platform expressed in *E. coli*. It represents a first-in-class immunotherapy for acne in China, aiming to provide a therapeutic alternative to traditional antibiotics and topical treatments by targeting the underlying bacterial cause of inflammation. As of late 2024, the candidate has entered Phase I/II clinical trials.
