WSK-V201 is an investigational, irradiated whole-cell inactivated bacterial vaccine being developed by WestVac Biopharma for the prevention and treatment of *Pseudomonas aeruginosa* infections. The vaccine is produced by obtaining *Pseudomonas aeruginosa* bacterial cells and subjecting them to radiation (such as gamma irradiation) to inactivate the pathogen while preserving its immunogenic surface antigens. This process is designed to induce protective humoral and cell-mediated immunity against multidrug-resistant *Pseudomonas aeruginosa*, thereby reducing bacterial load and preventing severe pulmonary infections, particularly in vulnerable populations such as patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or those in intensive care units. WSK-V201 is currently in preclinical development.
