WT-1 126-134 peptide is a synthetic peptide vaccine, consisting of amino acids 126 to 134 of human Wilms' Tumor protein-1 (WT1). WT1 is a tumor-associated antigen that is overexpressed in most leukemias and a variety of solid tumors. The peptide is used as a cancer vaccine to induce a cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL) response (primarily in HLA-A*0201 positive patients), with the aim of targeting and eliminating WT1-expressing malignant cells. WT-1 126-134 peptide vaccination has been investigated in phase 1 and 2 clinical trials for various hematological malignancies (notably acute myeloid leukemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, and chronic myeloid leukemia), and other tumors, often given with immunoadjuvants (such as Montanide ISA-51 VG, keyhole limpet hemocyanin, or GM-CSF) to improve immunogenicity. Clinical studies have demonstrated induction of WT1-specific immune responses and evidence of clinical activity with a favorable safety profile[1][2][3][4][5][6][8].
