Drug intelligence / Profile preview
WT-35021 is a small molecule therapeutic being developed by Wellstat Therapeutics for the treatment of solid tumors. Currently in the preclinical stage, the drug utilizes a novel mechanism of action that selectively targets the lysosomal phenotype characteristic of invasive cancer cells. By exploiting the distinct alterations in lysosomal structure and function found in malignant cells compared to healthy tissue, WT-35021 aims to induce selective tumor cell death while sparing normal cells. Preclinical models have demonstrated its ability to selectively target and kill tumor cells based on this unique lysosomal vulnerability.
