WT-7695 is a best-in-class radiopharmaceutical designed to target carbonic anhydrase IX (CA9), a protein highly expressed in certain cancers, notably clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). The drug consists of a CA9-targeting ligand labeled with the therapeutic radioisotope lutetium-177 (Lu-177), specifically using SHINE Technologies' non-carrier added Lu-177 chloride product known as Ilumira. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that WT-7695 achieves high tumor uptake and retention, resulting in significant tumor regression and 100% survival in mouse models of kidney cancer. The agent delivers targeted radiation to tumors while minimizing exposure to healthy tissue. IND-enabling studies are planned for early 2025[1][2][3][6][7].
