Overview

WT1-427 long is a synthetic peptide derived from the Wilms' tumor 1 (WT1) protein, designed as part of a multivalent cancer vaccine targeting tumors that overexpress WT1. The vaccine formulation includes several peptides to stimulate both CD4 and CD8 T cell responses across multiple HLA subtypes. Specifically, WT1-427 long is one of the longer native peptides included to induce CD4 T cell-mediated immunity. The mechanism involves presenting the peptide on tumor cells for recognition and destruction by activated T cells, aiming to generate an anti-tumor immune response in cancers such as malignant pleural mesothelioma and non-small cell lung cancer[2]. This approach leverages the immunogenicity of WT1, which is highly expressed in various malignancies but limited in normal adult tissues[3].
