WT1-specific T cells are an autologous cell therapy designed to treat advanced ovarian, primary peritoneal, and fallopian tube carcinomas. These T cells are engineered or sensitized to specifically recognize and target the Wilms tumor 1 (WT1) protein, which is often overexpressed in various cancers. The therapy aims to induce an immune response against tumor cells expressing WT1, leading to their destruction through a graft-versus-tumor effect. The treatment typically involves collecting the patient's own T cells, sensitizing them to WT1, and then reinfusing them, often after lymphodepletive conditioning with agents like cyclophosphamide and fludarabine.
