Overview
Wu-Mei-Wan is a classic traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula originally described in the *Shanghan Lun* (Treatise on Febrile Diseases). It is composed of ten herbal ingredients, including *Prunus mume* (Wu Mei), *Coptis chinensis* (Huang Lian), and *Aconitum carmichaelii* (Fu Zi). Traditionally used to treat "Jue Yin" stage disorders characterized by a complex of "upper heat and lower cold" (such as chronic diarrhea or parasitic infections), it is being investigated for its potential in treating primary (essential) hypertension, particularly in patients exhibiting this specific TCM syndrome.
