Overview

Wu Miao Wan (五妙丸) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula. Traditionally, it is known for its function in "improving all lower qi". Modern preclinical research, referring to a formulation as "Wu Miao Pill," has investigated its anti-inflammatory effects in acute gouty arthritis (AGA). This research suggests that its mechanism of action involves inhibiting necroptosis, a form of programmed cell death, by increasing the O-GlcNAcylation of Receptor-interacting serine/threonine-protein kinase 3 (RIPK3).
