Overview

WU-NK-101 is an allogeneic, off-the-shelf memory-like natural killer (NK) cell therapy developed for the treatment of hematologic malignancies and solid tumors. It is derived from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs), reprogrammed with cytokines to induce a memory-like phenotype, then expanded and cryopreserved. Unlike conventional NK cell therapies, WU-NK-101 exhibits enhanced anti-tumor activity, metabolic fitness/flexibility, persistence in the tumor microenvironment (TME), and resistance to immunosuppression. The product is not genetically engineered but relies on cytokine-induced reprogramming to achieve its properties. Preclinical studies have shown potent cytotoxicity against various tumor types both as monotherapy and in combination with monoclonal antibodies such as cetuximab. Clinical development includes Phase 1 trials for relapsed/refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and advanced/metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC) as well as squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN)[1][2][3][4][5][6][7].
