Overview

Wupeng Wan is a traditional Tibetan medicine (TTM) manufactured by Xizang Ganlu Tibetan Medicine. It is an approved pharmaceutical product in China, registered under the National Drug License Number Z54020049. The formulation is based on traditional Tibetan medical principles and is primarily indicated for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. It is used clinically to treat conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatism, and various inflammatory skin disorders, including eczema and pruritus (itching). The name 'Wupeng' (or Khung-nga in Tibetan) refers to the 'Five Garuda' formula, which typically incorporates five core ingredients: Aconitum szechenyianum (铁棒锤), Terminalia chebula (诃子), Aconitum pendulum (榜嘎), Trogopterus dung (五灵脂), and Musk (麝香). The medicine is intended to balance the bodily humors, specifically clearing heat and detoxifying the system to alleviate pain and inflammation.
