Wushen

Wushen refers to a group of traditional Chinese medicine preparations, including an oral liquid, a decoction, and a food mixture. The food mixture is described as containing 55 different natural ingredients. It has demonstrated anti-aging effects by modulating gut microbiota and metabolites. Wushen also exhibits antitumor activity, particularly against S180 tumor growth in vivo, partly due to its antioxidant properties. As a traditional Chinese medicine, Wushen Decoction has been historically used to treat lower extremity erysipelas, with its mechanism involving the modulation of the TNF and NF-kappa B signaling pathways. An herbal formula of Wushen has also shown effectiveness in treating postinfarction heart failure by improving cardiac function, reducing arrhythmia susceptibility, and mitigating adverse cardiac remodeling through the inhibition of TGFβ1/SMADs-mediated extracellular matrix deposition and Rac1/NOX2/CTGF/Connexin43-involved gap junction remodeling.
