Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Wusheng Erlunbao** is an oral, live-attenuated hexavalent human-bovine reassortant rotavirus vaccine produced in Vero cells for prevention of rotavirus gastroenteritis in infants. It contains six bovine-human mono-reassortant viruses on the bovine rotavirus UK Compton genetic backbone, each expressing a human rotavirus VP7 antigen representing G1, G2, G3, G4, G8, or G9. Oral administration is intended to induce mucosal and systemic immunity against Group A rotavirus, reducing rotavirus-associated acute gastroenteritis. The product was developed and manufactured by Wuhan Institute of Biological Products and was approved in China in August 2025 following clinical development that included Phase 1, Phase 2, and large randomized Phase 3 studies.
