Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Wuwei Xiaodu Yin (also known as Five-Ingredient Decoction to Eliminate Toxins) is a classical Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula originating from the Qing Dynasty's medical text *Yi Zong Jin Jian* (1742). It is a multi-herb botanical preparation composed of five key ingredients: Jin Yin Hua (Lonicera japonica flower), Pu Gong Ying (Taraxacum mongolicum), Zi Hua Di Ding (Viola yedoensis), Ye Ju Hua (Chrysanthemum indicum flower), and Tian Kui Zi (Semiaquilegia radix). The formula is traditionally used to clear heat, resolve fire toxicity, cool the blood, and disperse swelling. It is indicated for the treatment of localized heat-toxin skin infections such as boils, carbuncles, deep-rooted sores, and abscesses, as well as fever and sore throat. In July 2026, Reyoung Pharmaceutical received approval from China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) for Wuwei Xiaodu Yin Granules as a classic-formula TCM product.
