Overview

WVT078 is a novel bispecific antibody designed to target both B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) on multiple myeloma cells and CD3 on cytotoxic T lymphocytes. By binding simultaneously to BCMA and CD3, it redirects and activates T cells to kill BCMA-expressing tumor cells. The drug features a human IgG1 backbone and demonstrates subnanomolar affinity for BCMA, enabling potent T cell activation even in cases of low BCMA expression—a known resistance mechanism in multiple myeloma. Preclinical studies showed strong anti-myeloma activity with favorable tolerability in animal models. In phase I clinical trials for relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma, WVT078 has shown preliminary evidence of clinical activity with an acceptable safety profile[1][2][5][6][7].
