Drug intelligence / Profile preview
WXSH0493 is an investigational small molecule URAT1 inhibitor developed by Jiangsu Kanion Pharmaceutical for the management of hyperuricemia and gout. It targets the Solute Carrier Family 22 Member 12 (URAT1) transporter located on the apical membrane of proximal renal tubule cells. By inhibiting URAT1-mediated reabsorption of uric acid, WXSH0493 enhances uricosuric activity, leading to a reduction in serum uric acid levels. The compound is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy volunteers and patients with hyperuricemia.
