Drug intelligence / Profile preview
WXTJ0262 is a novel small molecule inhibitor of secretory phospholipase A2 (sPLA2) developed by Chenxin Pharmaceutical for the treatment of acute pancreatitis. The enzyme sPLA2 is a key initiator of the inflammatory cascade in pancreatitis, facilitating the hydrolysis of phospholipids into pro-inflammatory mediators such as arachidonic acid and lysophospholipids. These mediators contribute significantly to systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) and subsequent multi-organ failure, which are major complications of severe acute pancreatitis. By targeting this upstream enzyme, WXTJ0262 aims to mitigate systemic inflammation and improve clinical outcomes. The drug is formulated as an intravenous injection and is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation in China.
