WXWH0075 is an innovative small-molecule antibacterial agent developed by Zhuohe Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. It is specifically designed as an inhaled formulation for the treatment of pulmonary infections caused by Gram-negative bacteria, such as *Pseudomonas aeruginosa*, particularly in patients with underlying conditions like bronchiectasis. The drug functions as an inhibitor of LpxC (UDP-3-O-(R-3-hydroxymyristoyl)-N-acetylglucosamine deacetylase), a zinc-dependent enzyme that catalyzes the first committed step in the biosynthesis of Lipid A. Lipid A is an essential component of the lipopolysaccharide (LPS) layer in the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria. By inhibiting LpxC, WXWH0075 disrupts the integrity of the bacterial cell wall, leading to bacterial death.
