WXWH0226 is a small molecule inhibitor of monoamine oxidase B (MAO-B) being developed by Guizhou Inochini Technology for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. MAO-B is an enzyme responsible for the oxidative deamination of dopamine in the central nervous system; by selectively inhibiting this enzyme, WXWH0226 aims to increase the availability of dopamine in the synaptic cleft, thereby alleviating the motor symptoms associated with Parkinson's disease. The drug is currently undergoing clinical evaluation in China, with studies assessing its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary efficacy in both healthy volunteers and patients with Parkinson's disease.
