X-165

X-165 is an investigational, highly potent and selective small molecule inhibitor of the enzyme autotaxin being developed by X-Rx for fibrotic lung diseases, particularly idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). By binding to and inhibiting autotaxin, X-165 is designed to reduce production of lysophosphatidic acid, a lipid mediator implicated in fibroblast activation, inflammation, and progressive scarring in the lung. Preclinical studies and early development work have supported an IND application to the FDA for clinical evaluation in IPF, positioning X-165 within the emerging class of autotaxin-targeted antifibrotic agents.[1][2]
