Overview

X6 is a drug developed by Dr. Keith Elkon's team at the University of Washington. It is designed to treat lupus by reducing the production of type I interferons, which are known to promote inflammation in the disease. The drug is currently undergoing preclinical testing in human cells and mice, with the ultimate goal of seeking FDA permission to initiate clinical trials. It is being developed as a potentially safer alternative to existing toxic antimalarial drugs used for lupus.
