Drug intelligence / Profile preview
XA-4 refers to two distinct preclinical drug candidates. The first is a de novo designed single-domain antibody (VHH) developed by Xaira Therapeutics using its X-Design generative AI platform. It targets an undisclosed, complex G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) that has historically been intractable to conventional antibody discovery methods. It is currently in lead optimization for immunology and inflammatory diseases. The second is a recombinant peptide-XTEN conjugate developed by researchers at Zunyi Medical University. It is a long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) agonist based on the AWRK6 peptide, designed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus and, in combination with double shRNA, herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2) infection.
